ValueGuard respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we handle your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Apple's privacy requirements.

ValueGuard stores all data locally on your device. We do not collect, transfer, or store any data on external servers. This includes:

• Purchase information (name, amount, date)
• Receipt images (stored locally on your device)
• Store name and information
• Deadline settings and preferences
• App settings and preferences
• Local analytics logs (stored locally for app functionality only)

Important: All data remains on your device. We never access, transmit, or store your data on our servers.

Since all data is stored locally on your device and we do not process any personal data on our servers, the legal basis for processing is:

• Consent: You provide data voluntarily when using the app
• Legitimate Interest: Local processing is necessary for the app's core functionality

All data is used exclusively locally on your device to:

• Display purchase overview and history
• Calculate return deadlines and warranty periods
• Send local notifications and reminders
• Generate spending statistics and analytics
• Improve app functionality and user experience

We never share your data with third parties. No data is transmitted to external servers.

Storage Location: All data is stored locally on your device using iOS's secure storage mechanisms.

Retention Period: Your data is stored on your device until you delete it. You can delete all data at any time through Settings → Data Management → Delete All Data.

Data Deletion: When you delete data through the app, it is permanently removed from your device. We do not retain any copies as we never receive your data.

Receipt images you take or select are stored only locally on your device. No images are uploaded or sent to external servers. Images are stored using iOS's secure file system.

Local notifications are scheduled and managed by the iOS system. We do not send push notifications from external servers. All notification data remains on your device.

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have full control. However, you have the following rights:

• Right of Access (Article 15): You can access all your data directly in the app at any time.
• Right to Rectification (Article 16): You can edit any purchase or data directly in the app.
• Right to Erasure (Article 17): You can delete all data through Settings → Data Management → Delete All Data.
• Right to Data Portability (Article 20): You can export your data as JSON or PDF through the app's export feature.
• Right to Object (Article 21): You can stop using the app and delete all data at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at dev_monkey@outlook.com or use the in-app data management features.

You can delete all your data from the app at any time through Settings → Data Management → Delete All Data. This action:

• Permanently removes all purchase data
• Deletes all receipt images
• Removes all app settings and preferences
• Cannot be undone

Warning: This action is permanent and cannot be reversed.

ValueGuard does not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). The app requires no personal information and is safe for family use. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated through the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last revised.

We encourage you to review this privacy policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your data.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) and believe we have not addressed your privacy concerns, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (DPA).
